“Luck is preparation meeting opportunity.”
Do you think you’re lucky? Then you probably are!
No matter how much good fortune you have, you could always use more. Right? Here are some gold nuggets helping you get luckier in life.
Have an Attitude of Expectation
Psychologists and happiness experts all agree, there are specific attitudes and habits leading to good fortune. Expecting good things to come your way is the one key to creating more luck. Having a positive, optimistic outlook seems to attract good luck. Yes, we all have times of misfortune, but finding the “silver lining” turns it into a learning experience and might even lead to new creative discoveries.

Learn to Live in the Now
If you’re like me, you’re bombarded by distractions. Social media, texting, commercials, multi-tasking and too many emails (except for this one). It all keeps us distracted. Our attention spans are shrinking. Do you ever feel like you just can’t focus?
Learning to relax, concentrate and be present are keys to being lucky. Pay attention to things around you. Take time to notice. Be curious. You’ll begin to see opportunities you might not otherwise regard. The ability to be present sparks creative ideas and brainstorms.
Have you ever had a great idea strike but didn’t write it down? Who knows what could have come from it? Capturing the idea, taking time to reflect on its possibilities, creates serendipitous moments.
To finish Oprah’s quote, “If you hadn’t been prepared when opportunity came along, you wouldn’t have been ‘lucky.’”
